To promote Peacock’s day-and-date release of Honk For Jesus, we got fans of Sterling K. Brown, Regina Hall and mockumentaries excited to stream the film on the streaming service from the comfort of their own homes the same day as its release in theaters. Part of this involved sharing self-films from Regina and Sterling discussing behind-the-scenes secrets and insight into their off-camera friendship. We also gave fans a look at the premiere red carpet moments and comedic clips from the film.
To showcase the dynamic between Trinitie Childs, the proud First Lady of a Southern Baptist megachurch, and Curtis Lee Childs, who is involved in a scandal that caused their church to temporarily close, we cut together a mashup of hilarious and telling clips that make the film so unique.
Before Honk For Jesus even premiered, fans of Sterling took to Instagram to share their love of his line “Shake it for the Lord!” in the trailer. We cut this clip for Peacock’s Instagram story and asked fans with their Pastor tagline would be.
